Dreaming of building in the Texas Hill Country?
You deserve to have your one-of-a-kind home built for you by Riverbend Homes, Inc.
Owner/Builder Ken Neely has been turning Texas families' dreams into reality for nearly 20 years.
Riverbend Homes has a philosophy of treating our clients as friends, doing thorough planning, and putting emphasis on communication. If there is one word that Riverbend Homes is known for, it would be "thorough". When the time is taken up front to translate your thoughts into a "true custom" plan that suits your family's needs and complements your property in every way, the whole building process is much smoother for everyone involved. It can even be fun!
Riverbend Homes has built homes in several areas of the Hill Country including: West Austin, Lake Travis, Lakeway, Bee Caves and Johnson City. We have built homes in sizes from small cabins to homes well over $750,000. We can build one that is just right for you. Our typical customer is not a first time home buyer . . they are more likely to be moving up-scale or into a retirement dream home.
We realize that you have spent a lot of time finding and buying the perfect property for your home.
We can now help you with the design of the home taking full advantage of the view, breezes and the position of the sun for enjoyment of the sunrises and sunsets and greater energy efficiency to reduce your heating and cooling bills.
You are welcome to buy construction plans elsewhere, or hire an architect, or use our affiliated architectural service with whom we work closely.
Here is how we are different . . . Many builders, in an attempt to be "custom", will try to fit you into a pre-priced group of plans that usually fit only a few of the criteria that you expected when you selected the property for your dream home. They will then up-charge you for everything from driveways to landscaping. This is not our approach. You can take advantage of our creativity.
We would like for you to live in the home you pictured in your mind when you purchased your property, not a home meant for a community that is built over and over again with just a few modifications. So go ahead and cut out all of those magazine pictures that you like and bring those pencil sketches on restaurant napkins.
We will take the time to help you develop them into a plan that is "truly customized" to your needs and wants, maximizing the function and flow of your new home.
Your ideas for the home, combined with our ideas, and an architect's input, all together create a home in harmony with the land, fulfilling all of your needs and desires.
Creative use of materials . . . The endless variety of materials available today can create beautiful textures, patterns, colors and designs from the simple and rustic to the bold and dramatic. Bring your ideas with you and let's have fun!
A combination of wood and stone add function and beauty.
A well planned kitchen is designed with the cook in mind but meets the needs of all members of the family.
Using a combination of Texas materials such as limestone, granite, tile and wood can create an attractive and inviting kitchen.
There is nothing like wood to add warmth, beauty and character to a home.
The homeowner may also want to incorporate the use of wood or stone found on their property. The cedar used for the fireplace mantle in the above photo was from a tree on the property.
Rustic character can be added to a Texas style home by using wrought iron similar to the stair railing in the photo above with the Texas star and rope design.
Over the years we have developed a special treatment for crown molding above doors and windows which provides interesting architectural detailing and has become very popular with our clients.
What you can look forward to . . . As a number of our homeowners have told us, "The process was not stressful...it was even fun!"
Maybe you would like to be hands-on with part of your home's construction. Possibly you would like to do some special speaker wiring yourself or you would like to have a friend's business install carpet for you at a great price; we welcome customization like this.
With flexible use of allowance dollars at your disposal you can customize your home in many ways. For example, you may find that special mirror for the powder bathroom or a dining room light fixture at the antique shop, or maybe even a great deal on a spa through the internet. We are happy to work with you on your special interests like these.
We would like you to have a list of the families that we have built homes for so that you can ask them questions about us. Please ask us and we will provide the list at our first meeting on your property.
With regard to references, we are proud that most of the homes that we built are in communities in which our own family has lived!
Porches, decks and balconies . . . Central Texas porches, decks and balconies enhance your enjoyment of the outdoors. We can help with the design of these porches, decks and balconies so that they are virtually maintenance free!
Energy efficiency . . . We can help you with the positioning of your home for energy efficiency. We can also help you with energy efficient details to reduce heating and cooling bills.
Pricing and timing . . . After we meet with your family on your property and hear about your ideas, we will be better able to answer the question of when your home will be completed and how much it will cost. Be assured, we are very competitive on pricing and take pride in building on schedule.
An unsolicited letter from one of our homeowners . . . "Dear Ken, In the year that we worked together your fine professional attributes did not go unnoticed. What I had been forewarned could have been a nightmare, you helped manifest and develop into a dream come true. I found your dedication, attention to detail, communication skills, integrity, and ethics, to be highly commendable. You delivered to us, as promised, a quality Riverbend Home that our family can truly take pride in for many years to come. You have the fullest endorsement and are welcomed back here any time either professionally or socially." Capt. Tom Cleary, Spicewood, TX
We would like to be friends . . . It may sound corny, but most of our buyers become friends of ours while building their home. We are, and will remain, a smaller company so that we can better oversee the construction of your home better maintain a better level of communication with you.
